Pathfinder Mission: To connect caring adults with needy youth that would benefit from a guiding relationship. Program Description: Pathfinder is a faith-based ministry that grew out of the vision of Cocalico area pastors and churches to serve youth in the Cocalico School District with caring adult guides/mentors. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lancaster County is partnering with Pathfinder of Cocalico to provide technical support and expertise in processing, screening, and matching youth and volunteers, and supporting those mentoring relationships throughout their match. Goals of Pathfinder: · Communicate youths’ dilemma to the community · Train adults as Guides for youth · Connect the Guides with the youth · Encourage and support the Guides What does a Guide do? A guide will simply invest time with a youth, showing unconditional love. This can be done by taking walks, going out for ice cream or just talking. Volunteer Opportunities: If you would like to volunteer to mentor a youth in the Cocalico Area School District, or you know of a youth who could benefit from services, please contact Shawn Crills.
